Master Meter Inc. announces the introduction of the Sonata Residential Ultrasonic meter, the latest addition to Master Meter’s ultrasonic flow measurement family. The Sonata incorporates highly accurate flow measurement capabilities with smart IoT-ready electronics to deliver a reliable and consistent source of revenue and the intellect to provide critical real time data directly from the meter. The Sonata was developed to address utilities’ most pressing issues; eliminate non-revenue water (NRW), reduce water theft and tampering, and optimize billing revenues. Through the use of precise ultrasonic measurement technology, the Sonata is capable of measuring flow as low as 1/32 GPM with a high degree of accuracy. This results in a lifetime of accurate, reliable, and consistent billing data.
“Sonata’s smart IoT-ready electronics enable the meter to report alarms such as small leaks or a burst pipe to Allegro and Harmony, Master Meter’s AMI network and Meter Data Management (MDM) Suite, which in turn can immediately notify the customer through a smart phone app”, explains Greg Land, Product Manager of Solid-State Measurement. “Additional smart alarms built into the Sonata can also notify a utility if the meter has been tampered with, including a unique feature in this industry that utilizes an accelerometer to recognize if the meter has been removed from service or temporarily turned around, which could be a sign of water theft.”
