MANSFIELD, TX, Sept. 23, 2009 — Ronald N. Koch, Director of Business Development at Master Meter Inc., received the 2009 George Anderson Award in June at the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference & Exposition. Koch’s acumen and ongoing contributions to the water metering industry led the AWWA Standards Committee on Water Meters to bestow such an honor.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Koch spent the start of his career with Rockwell International Metering Division for more than 20 years. He has spearheaded product development in addition to directing design innovation for Master Meter’s core measurement portfolio the past 15 years.
According to his nominator, Ron “…continues pushing the edge of technology with solid-state meters.”
Koch is a man of many hats. Among other things, he has been a member of the American Society of Sanitary Engineering’s Backflow Preventer Committee, the NSF International’s 61 Task Group 8 and the National Conference on Weights and Measures, to name a few. He currently holds six U.S. patents and is also a Life Member of AWWA.
Koch’s constant enthusiasm for what he does is one of many reasons why Master Meter is proud to have such a remarkable individual representing the company. According to the award citation, “…Ron Koch epitomizes the dedication, passion, and leadership that the George Anderson Award represents.”
The George Anderson Award symbolizes much more than excellence and commitment, which is precisely why it is only given to select individuals, as Ron Koch, deserving of such a merit.
